To reduce plastic waste or any other purposeless waste we must rebel against the culture of compulsive consumption. It’s not enough to throw your crap in the bin. We need to reduce the amount of stuff we throw away.
We don’t need more stuff. We need to return to a culture in which we value our time and not things, especially if so much of what we buy ends up on a pile of trash or in the Ocean.
Like Jimmy Carter says: Human Identity should be defined by what we do, not by what we own.
So ask yourself more often if what you are buying was produced with integrity, does it add value to your life, does it add pupose, does it honour nature and protect our natural habitat. And have faith that it’s not as complicated as it seems. Because every little lovely improvement is an improvement worth making.
Team OceanLove is coming together on September 21 to show our love for the Ocean and to raise awareness about the importance of plastic free waters. Feel free to join or support our team and if you feel like it make a donation. Because keeping our Earth and Ocean healthy is our most important shared responsibility.
